This tutorial explains how to use the updated image and gallery functions. It includes uploading multiple files to create a gallery, cropping and rotating images, and making clickable images.
Adding an Image Step 1 | To add an image, click on the blue plus button in the bottom right corner of your screen. (Alternatively, you can drag a photo directly from your desktop onto your Aportfolio page) | |

Step 2 | Next, click the upload file button. | |
Step 3 | You will see this screen. From here, you can either drag an image into the box or click the “choose files” button and select a file or files from there. | |
Step 4 | After your image has uploaded you will see it here. | |
Step 5 | If you would like to upload more images to create a gallery, click the “choose files” button or drag an image to the box. | |
Step 6 | If you need to undo an upload, click the “x” here. | |
Step 7 | To rotate or crop the image, click the green convert button here. | |
Editing the Image Step 1 | To rotate the image, click the buttons here. | |
Step 2 | To crop the image use the boxes on the edge of the image like these. | |
Step 3 | Once you are happy with the image, click the save button. | |
uploading images | Once all of your images are ready to be added to your Aportfolio, click upload. If you have more than one file it will upload as a gallery. | |

Image related buttons | If you upload more than one image, there will also be buttons for gallery functions. | |
The edit button gives you the option to change or add images. | | |
Creating a Gallery Step 1 | Click ‘replace this file’ to change the current image. | |
Step 2 | Click ‘add more files’ to add more images to the photo/gallery | |
Editing a Gallery Step 1 | Click here to access the image/gallery settings. | |
Step 2 | There are many options in the settings for images/galleries. | |
Step 3 | These are the Gallery Settings. To see them, click on the menu option for Gallery Settings. | |
Step 4 | These are the layout options. These will allow you to change the layout of the gallery. You will not see these options if you have only one image. | |
Step 5 | This is the autoplay setting. Autoplay acts as a slideshow. The Play Speed setting adjusts how quickly autoplay changes pictures. | |
Step 6 | ‘Background slide’ changes the background color of your image/gallery. | |
step 7 | ‘Background opacity’ changes the opacity of the background color of your image or gallery. | |
Step 8 | These options let you decide what controls the viewer will have. Play/Pause will allow the viewer to play or pause your gallery. Grid View allows your viewer to pull up the grid view of your gallery. Full Screen Mode allows viewers to see the image in full screen mode. | |
Step 9 | The file settings allow you to change characteristics about the individual images. If you have a gallery, you will need to use these arrows to choose which image you change settings for. | |
Making an image clickable | These settings will let you change properties of the image. Display File allows you to hide the image. Display Download URL allows you to give the viewer a way to download the image. Make Image Clickable allows you to enter a URL which makes your image a link. | |
Editing a gallery cont | This slider allows you to decide if the image will be displayed full size or the best fit for the space given. | |
Step 11 | ‘Opacity’ changes the opacity of the image. | |
Step 12 | ‘Alt text’ is used to enter text that will play for screen readers. | |
Captions Step 1 | These are the Caption Style settings. Scroll down on the menu to see them. | |
Step 2 | Select position to position your caption on the image. This is a great way to add image citations. | |
Step 3 | To change the font and font size, us the drop down menu here and the font size slider. | |
Step 4 | To change the font color, click this box and choose a color. | |
Step 5 | These buttons allow you to change the alignment of the text in the caption. | |
Step 6 | This setting lets you change the padding, or space, around the text. | |
Step 7 | These settings allow you to change the caption’s background color and opacity. | |
Additional Options | Click here to move the image/gallery. | |
Click here to delete the image/gallery. | ||
If you have a gallery, this button will play the gallery. | ||
If you have a gallery, this button will open up grid mode which lets you move, replace, or delete images. | ||
Click and drag the image to reorder it within the gallery. | ||
If you need to replace or delete media, click here. | ||
Next, choose replace file. | ||
You can delete an image by clicking delete. | ||
Click this button to go back to the gallery view. | ||
This button makes the image/gallery fullscreen. | ||
